Ford Fiesta Classic Figo |
It is the first time in India, when any company return their products
and manufacture them for free due to preference of customer's
satisfaction. According to the latest update Ford India has announced a
recall of 1,66,021 units of its largest selling compact Figo and Classic
sedan to rectify problems related to steering and rear suspension. This
activity of ford company is representing their moral values towards
customers. Nowadays, Ford is increasing their status and level
throughout all over India. Impact
of recall is good for customers on different batches of Figo and
Classic models which manufactured between January 2010 and June 2012.
According to the information 1,09,469 units of Ford Figo and 22,453 Ford
Classic produced and sold from January 2011 until June 2012 and will
need to be inspected, but will not necessarily need part replacements.
Ford India said that a potential crack in the RTB first manifests itself
in the form of an abnormal noise from the rear. If the vehicle is continuously driven and the noise symptoms are ignored, it could lead
to the RTB unit breaking, resulting in diminished ride and handling and
break performance potentially rendering the vehicle inoperable. In the
case of the PAS Hose issue, the company said, "there was a potential for
development of an oil leak, which could result in potential fumes being
emitted from the area causing the leak. It may also be possible for
power steering fluid to come in to contact with the vehicle's exhaust
components creating smoke and in extreme cases, fire occurs". This is
the biggest vehicle recall since industry body SIAM had introduced a
voluntary recall in July last year.
